Valentines
February 14th became Valentine’s Day 1500 years ago! But it wasn’t until about 600 years ago that someone wrote and sent the first recorded Valentine (it is now in the British Museum). Now it has been about 200 years that most people have been sending Valentines to friends and loved ones.
People celebrate Valentine’s Day in many places: here in the US, Canada, Mexico, England, Ireland, Scotland, France and even Australia. It is a day to celebrate love and friendship with cards, notes, candy and kindness.
